Your group host, Jera Oliver, will donate 10% of the proceeds from each booking to support the Nursing Education Program at Columbus State Community College.

This sailing was intentionally selected given its departure on April 12 — her father’s birthday. He is the reason Jera began traveling internationally by cruise ship at just four years old, sparking a lifelong love of exploration.

Her father passed away in 2017 after a year-long decline in health, cared for around the clock by his wife of more than three decades and a dedicated team of nursing aides. In 2025, Jera’s mother required her own 24-hour care team following a sudden battle with terminal brain cancer.

Jera carries deep gratitude for the nurses and caregivers who support families through life’s most vulnerable seasons. In her hardest days — wishing she could have done more — she reminds herself that she did her best, and that her best was strengthened by the skill, compassion, and commitment of medical professionals in hospitals, nursing facilities, and private homes.

Now, she hopes to pay that care forward.

By reducing financial barriers for aspiring nurses, this initiative aims to help more people answer their calling to serve. One meaningful way to contribute is by joining this special sailing — honoring a family legacy of travel while supporting those who care for others.
