The moment you arrive on Zanzibar’s main island, Unguja, and step into historic Stone Town, you’ll be invited to adopt the island’s unhurried rhythm.
Throughout your stay, you’ll often hear the Swahili phrase pole pole—“slowly, slowly.” It’s more than just words; it’s a gentle reminder to pause, breathe, and carry this sense of ease beyond your journey.
Welcome to Zanzibar, where you’ll practice slowing down and savoring life’s simple—and extraordinary—moments.
We have a suggested itinerary that is tried and true. However, your preferences will inform the final plan.
After reviewing your interest form responses and holding a getting-to-know-you conversation, you will receive 2-3 itinerary options, and you will have 30 days to make your selection.
The balance of the costs will be added to your account and you will have until September 30, 2026 to make payments.
Starting at $2,100 per person based on double occupancy.
If you’re flying to Zanzibar from the East Coast of the United States, this is the latest date for your departure from your chosen international gateway (or “hub”) city — assuming you select a flight with only one layover.
Welcome to Zanzibar! Upon your transfer from the airport (included) to the hotel, set down your bags and indulge in the beachfront amenities that the hotel has to offer. End the day with an al fresco welcome dinner (included).
Eat breakfast (included) and get right to the fun! Enjoy a day of island hopping (included). Snorkel and view the under-ocean landscape. Feed tortoises on Prison Island. Indulge in a delicious lunch.
Upon returning to the main Zanzibar island, you’ll probably want to rest after such a jam packed day! Eat dinner on your own at or near the hotel.
The lush island landscape is ripe for growing and harvesting an array of tropical fruits, vegetables, and herbs. You will participate in a cooking experience (included), tour a spice farm (included), and learn about local varieties of vegetation.
Breakfast and lunch are included on this day, but dinner is on your own this day.
In the morning after breakfast (included), tour the city with a professionally trained local guide (included). Enjoy a farm-to-table lunch (included) with live Zanzibari music playing in the background and then head to your beach retreat in Michamvi (very chill) or Nungwi (part quiet, part nightlife) to rest from the hustle and bustle of Stone Town. Dinner is on your own.
While at our second hotel, where breakfast is included each morning, you will be encouraged to rest.
If you’re still feeling adventurous, consider adding on a tour of the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, going clear kayaking, and/or booking a sunset boat ride. No need to decide in advance. Book these excursions on your own directly through the resort.
Lunch and dinner are also on your own on both days.
It’s time to bid farewell and safe travels. Those who are departing on this day will be driven to the airport.
Consider extending your trip with a few more days in Zanzibar or a safari in mainland Tanzania. Post-trip excursion options will be discussed during pre-trip planning conversations.
The purpose of the interest form is to help us get to know you. Registration for this trip via the booking link is separate.
